Klarbrunn Cares Donates $10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters

ST CLOUD, MN (June 10, 2019) –

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota is celebrating its 50th year in the community. In honor of this special milestone, U.S. Bank is graciously sharing their sponsored evening of Summertime by George, on Wednesday July 10th, with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The July 10th Summertime by George will feature musical entertainment by Collective Unconscious and the Fabulous Armadillos will perform their Eagles Tribute, Taking it to the Limit. A former High School Big in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, Brooke Maruska, will be singing the national anthem. Big Brothers Big Sisters will also be recruiting new Bigs and providing a family-friendly activity at Little Georgetown.

In support of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 50 years in Central Minnesota, Coborn’s and Klarbrunn created the Klarbrunn Cares program with in-store promotional displays and sampling, a contest to recruit Bigs for the program, and logo placement for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Klarbrunn, Coborn’s, Bernick’s, and U.S. Bank on 640,000 grocery bags.

At the Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Board Meeting on May 28, Klarbrunn Cares presented Big Brothers Big Sisters with a check for $10,000.

Executive Director Jackie Johnson states “Big Brothers Big Sisters is 100% supported by the community. Because there is no cost to participate in the program, and no fundraising requirements for the youth or mentors, we rely on our community partners to make this happen. When pillar community businesses stand with us, we are able to do our best work. We can’t thank Coborn’s, Bernick’s/Klarbruun Cares, and U.S. Bank enough for helping us to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.”

Currently, there are over 100 children in Central Minnesota that are waiting for a Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple, or Big Family.  To learn more about becoming a friend to a child in need, call (320) 253-1616 or visit www.BigDefenders.org.
