Tour of Target’s Corporate Headquarters – Minneapolis

About this Event
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Twin Cities is kicking off the Career Exploration series this fall with a special inside look at Target Headquarters. Join us for a scavenger hunt and tour of Target’s world in downtown Minneapolis! If you’ve been inside a Target store you know they sell just about anything. Did you know that it takes teams of thousands of people with different jobs to make Target stores run successfully?
This Target Explore event will introduce you to some of these folks. And you’ll get to tour the various departments at Target’s downtown Minneapolis headquarters. During our tour of Target Headquarters, you’ll get a chance to see different departments close up, ask questions with Target employees and enjoy activities.
TOUR SCHEDULE
3D Printing Lab – On the Target tour you’ll be able to see a lab filled with 3D printers that are used for rapid prototyping of miniature models. Attendees may get the chance to see a few objects being 3D printed during their visit.
Fabric Library – On the tour you’ll see a library that contains hundreds of fabric samples manufactured in 20+ countries. Fabric samples are used when designing apparel for the Target stores.
Mock Store – On the tour we’ll stop to see a mock store that is used to plan future iterations of in-store assortment and we’ll see a sneak peek at what products will be in stores 6-12 months from now.
Corporate Command Center – On our tour we’ll lear more about the Corporate Command Center, a room that is staffed 24/7 and is used to quickly investigate any incidents affecting any stores, e.g. hurricanes, store thefts, etc. The CCC has access to all cameras in all 1,850 Target stores, allowing the team to quickly address problems as they arise.
Marketing Floor – Get a sneak peak at the Marketing floor while we visit with a marketing manager where we’ll talk more about their role and take a quick tour of one of the marketing floors.
Buying Floor – Our last stop will be on the Buying Floor where we’ll meet with a buyer and talk about their role and during a quick tour of their floor.
