Come out an enjoy this one of a kind experience! An attempt to break the world record for an ice carousel (a moving circular piece) will be made. Even meet the inventor of the ice carousel from Finland! The past record holders from Maine will be on hand to hopefully hand the traveling trophy to Minnesota.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast and Day of Service

Monday, January 21st 8:00-10:00am at the River's Edge Convention Center (10 4th Avenue South, St. Cloud, MN 56301)

Keynote Speaker: Best-selling author, prize-winning journalist, acclaimed biographer and cultural historian, Wil Haygood. Children ages 5-12 will have the opportunity to learn about and engage in community service during the keynote address in the King's Kids Room.

The breakfast will be an opportunity for everyone to participate in an on-site community-wide service project creating Dream Packages for men, women and children that will benefit those in need in St. Cloud.

You are welcome to donate items for the Dream Packages including wash cloths, socks, gloves, hats, deodorant, lip balm, feminine hygiene products, lotion, playing cards, tissues, crayons, small toys etc. Items should be small enough to fit inside a gallon size ziplock bag. You can bring these items with you or drop them off at the Miller Center Library Room 212B by noon on Friday, January 18.

Breakfast is free and open to the general public however registration is required. Please be sure to print out your registration confirmation and bring it with you. The doors will open at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m.

Read to a Dog

A great opportunity for a relaxing one-on-one reading session with a dog. These dogs, from Therapy Dog International, love to be read to, and provide a friendly atmosphere, which allows people of all ages to practice the skill of reading.

Pre-registration is required. Call the library at 763-441-1641 to schedule your individual 20 minute appointment. For children ages 6 and up, teens, and adults. Limit: 12.

Heart Candy Box

Saturday, February 2nd 9:00am-12:00pm

Home Depot - St. Cloud, Monticello, and Elk River locations

Celebrate love and kindness with a personalized candy heart box! Each child can build a heart shaped box for Valentine's Day - perfect as a gift for someone you love or to stash all your sweet Valentine's Day goodies and keepsakes in. Once the heart is built, you can customize it with paint and stickers.

All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a workshop apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.

DIY Valentines
