- Online Safety: as we are now relying more heavily on technology to help us stay connected we wanted to share online safety resources for families. One of our partners has designed a short web-series, Into the Cloud, for kids 10 and under. The website also has printable activities and online games.
- Here is the full list of services the Great River Regional Library is offering right now including Abdo Elementary Bookshelf, Abdo Secondary Bookshelf, TeenBookCloud (collection of ebooks for students grades 7-12. No hold queues or waiting.), AudioBookCloud (collection of audiobooks for all ages. No hold queue or waiting.) If you don't have a library card you can get an e-card. They also have story time via Facebook live on Tuesday/Thursdays at 11 am.

Natural disasters like tornadoes are difficult to understand and can be challenging to discuss with children. The National Child Traumatic Stress Network offers several resources to help caregivers address this topic with children and teens.
After the Tornado: Helping Young Children Heal explains ways to ensure that children feel safe and protected after frightening events like tornadoes.
Tips for Parents on Media Coverage of the Tornadoes explains how exposure to media coverage about natural disasters can affect children and offers suggestions on how to discuss natural disasters with children and limit their exposure to disturbing media coverage.
